According to the latest estimates from Worldometer, the population of the United Kingdom (UK) has reached 67,963,526 as of Thursday, July 4, 2024. This represents a continuation of the steady growth trend observed since 1982.
In mid-2020, the UK population reached 67.1 million, an increase from 66.8 million in mid-2019. The population is estimated to have grown further to 67.0 million in mid-2021.
The growth rate from mid-2018 to mid-2019 was recorded at 0.5%, contributing to the overall increase in population.
These estimates are based on data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and other official sources. The ONS conducts a census every 10 years, with the most recent one conducted in 2011.
