Uruguay ended Argentina's 14-match winning run on Friday with a 1-0 victory in the Copa America, thanks to a late goal from Darwin Nunez.
Nunez, who plays for Liverpool in the English Premier League, scored the winning goal in the 87th minute, slotting home a pass from Edinson Cavani.
Argentina had been unbeaten since losing to Saudi Arabia in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup.
The match was played at the Mane Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia, Brazil.
Angel Di Maria had given Argentina the lead in the 7th minute, but Nunez's goal cancelled out the advantage.
The result leaves Argentina in second place in Group B, behind Uruguay.
